Thought of the Day - 4/5/10

But we are living in a skeptical and, if I may use the phrase, a thought-tormented age; and sometimes I fear that this new generation, educated or hyper educated as it is, will lack those qualities of humanity, of hospitality, of kindly humor which belonged to an older day.
~~ James Joyce ~~

Times were certainly simpler just a few generations ago. As technology reaches new peaks and our life becomes over-simplified, it seems as though waves of distrust have spread throughout humankind. Technology and science has done such wonderful things for the world, but have also produced means of devastating destruction. With new superfluous things and the availability of harmful power, I can’t help but think the world has developed a bit more greed and distrust and our priorities are in different places than they once were.
