Prayer of the Week - 11/11/12

I don't believe I've ever thought to thank you, God, for this wonderful friend.  I do thank you for creating her and letting her enrich my life this way.  Thank you for all the months we've known each other and the confidences and hope and troubles that we've shared.

Thank you for the understanding we bring to each other, for the patience we have with each other's faults, for the advice, and even the scoldings
we are able to give each other without either of us taking offense.

Thank you for the help we have been to each other, in this way, and so many more.  Thank you that because of her I am a better, happier person and that she has grown as a person too because of me.

Thank you that she would give me anything in her power, time, money, work, possessions, encouragement, sympathy, whatever my need and that she knows I would be as quick to respond to whatever her needs might be.

Thank you that we can laugh together, cry together, rejoice together.  When we do come together it is always the same.

Lord, bless and keep her, this person you fashioned and filled with qualities that have meant so much to me.  Thank you, Lord, for my friend.

Thought of the Day - 9/25/12

Only trust someone who can see these things in you:
The sorrow behind your smile,
The love behind your anger,
and the reason behind your silence.

Thought of the Day - 9/24/12

There are always consequences for your actions.

Thought of the Day - 9/23/12

The road to adulthood is long.  Make sure your kids have a great map.

Thought of the Day - 9/22/12

If you wait to have kids until you can afford them, you probably never will.

Thought of the Day - 9/21/12

If you want to play, practice.
If you want to win, practice harder.

Prayer of the Week - 9/10/12

Prayer of Devotion

Thanks be to thee, my Lord Jesus Christ, For all the benefits thou hast won for me, For all the pains and insults thou hast borne for me. O most merciful Redeemer, Friend, and Brother, May I know thee more clearly, Love thee more dearly, And follow thee more nearly: For ever and ever. Amen.

St. Richard Chichester (1197-1253)

Thought of the Day - 9/10/12

A popular person is one whom many people want to be friends with, but a friend is someone with whom you share secrets and intimate thoughts.

Thought of the Day - 9/9/12

If I make friends with someone, it's because of the way I'm treated and because I'm accepted, faults and all.

Thought of the Day - 9/8/12

A lot of times, people don't necessarily like their friends.  They just hang out with them because they're afraid of being alone.  One really good friend is worth a dozen superficial ones.

Thought of the Day - 9/7/12

You can't do things based on what other people are going to think, because that's going to lead you nowhere.
~~ Rose McGowan ~~

Thought of the Day - 9/6/12

Often we try to blame friends for treating us badly or not providing the love we need.  But, ultimately, we are responsible for loving ourselves enough that our friends can't help but love and respect us, because we won't tolerate anything less.

Thought of the Day - 9/5/12

How many times and for how many years I have looked into the eyes of another asking, "Will you love me?" Yet no one can give me what I have not given myself.

Thought of the Day - 9/4/12

Any test of friendship involves a choice.  We can respond in a way that brings us closer together, or we can respond in a way that pushes us apart.
~~ Sandy Sheehy ~~

Thought of the Day - 9/3/12

Really good people are few and far between -- don't let them go because of dumb mistakes or misunderstandings.  The best friendships allow for a little flakiness.
~~ Mindy Morgenstern ~~

Thought of the Day - 9/2/12

I never think of what others might do for me without giving equal thought to what I might do for them.
~~ Joline Godfrey ~~

Thought of the Day - 9/1/12

I have learned that to have a good friend is the greatest of God's gifts, for it is a love that has no exchange for payment.

I Am Back . . . Please Join Me

Thanks to so many that have left me comments and personal emails regarding my whereabouts.  I appreciate all the concerns.  Sadly, my health has taken a big turn for the worse this past year.  Also, since I started homeschooling my children (and remember, I am single mother) it has been very difficult to find time for me and things I want to do.

But, here I am.

I have LOTS of family news, book reviews, Christmas ideas, quotes & 'other thoughts of the day," health updates, and all kinds of cherished thoughts to share with you.

Please accept my sincere apologies for being MIA.  Now onto blogging...
