Thankful Thursday #14

I've been missing from this meme for a long time. Though, I do have several posts about various things I am thankful for.

I am thankful for...
  • I am thankful for having a decent house to live in. I have lived in dumps and have lived in the "projects" so this is really nice to have.
  • I am thankful my daughter is a bookworm like me.
  • I am thankful my son is doing so well at ADHD camp (day camp) this year. He has earned honor roll and other fun camp awards.
  • I am thankful for the pharmacist who is trying her hardest today to get the medication I need for my pain.
  • I am thankful that I am no longer sick so I can take care of my children instead of my young children taking care of me.
Sadly, Grace Alone is no longer hosting this meme. The co-hosting for Thankful Thursday is being shared. Unfortunately, my fibro fog brain gets easily confused as to where I need to go so lamely I have not been participating as I should. Thanks to the all the co-hostesses.

As I think about all I have to be thankful for, the list is astonishingly long. For today, I will focus on those most precious in my heart

I am thankful today for . . .

  1. Doug, a kind friend, who has helped me with so many things while I recover from surgery.
  2. Cassandra, for being such a good girl.
  3. Cameron, for having a good sense of humor.
  4. Teresa, a super friend, who has not forgotten me during this hectic year of downs and more downs.
  5. God, for continuing to show His love for me.

Thankful Thursday #11

This week I am thankful for...

  • The kindness, generosity of spirit, and helpfulness of my daughter's first grade teacher. (Tomorrow is the last day of school.)
  • The kindhearted comments that so many of you graciously leave me each week when reading my Thankful Thursday list.
  • The friends, online, who continually help me run my groups, sites, and forums. You all are such an important part of my life.
  • The overwhelming friendship, thoughtfulness, and compassion of my son's TSS (Therapeutic Support Staff). (Unfortunately, for the Litz family, the TSS has moved forward in her career so she is no longer with us and the loss is greatly felt.)

Thankful Thursday #7

In the midst of chaos, pain, and bitterness, I am finding it really difficult to find the joy and grace and gratitude to write my list.

From the bottom of my heart, I am thankful for:

  • my dear son, Cameron.
  • my dear daughter, Cassandra.
  • for my dear friends, Sandy and Teresa, who do no judge me and who constantly listen to my woes and gripes.
  • for my newer online friends, Phyllis and Tracey.
  • for the rain that nourishes the ground, grass, trees, plants, and flowers to make our world more beautiful.
  • for my dear friend, Dave, who mows my yard that has benefited greatly from all the rain, even when I don't have the money to pay him for his services.
  • for my dear friend and mechanic, Rick, who fixed my car, even though I don't have the money to pay him for his work and services.
  • for God, who provides me with all of my dear friends.

Thankful Thursday #3 - Thankful Defined

Today I am finding it hard to be thankful for my blessings with so little sleep and the over-abundance of stress.

Instead of adding more stress to myself I decided I needed to refresh my mind and my heart and learn what it means to be thankful.

Thankful Thursday #2

I am thankful for being loved this much...

Thankful... or Not... Thursday

Today is starting off rough here in the Litz house. Car won't start... too cold. My car door doesn't open from the inside so I was stuck -- literally -- in my freezing car for 15 minutes struggling and trying to climb over the seat to get out the passenger door. Not a pretty sight. All out of breath and really upset. Why is this bothering me so much?

I go into the house to cancel my morning appointments... not a good thing and there will be repercussions later. I tell the kids they are not going to school... and I'll pay dearly for that later since I added more stress onto myself by letting them stay home. There was no way I was walking them to school.

As I am going through the day's calendar and appts. I see I have a house inspection today and the house is trashed. I still have some Chrsitmas trees up, all in various stages of undress, the floors are dirty due to all the rain and snow we've had. My fibromyalgia does't want to cooperate with me so I can get these simple household chores done. Ugh!

So, instead, of cleaning and doing chores, I sit here at the computer whining to all of you.

Today is Thankful Thursday, and after the first hour being totally shot, I am struggling to come up with a list...

Today, I am thankful for...
1. The warmth of my home.
2. That my children love me even when I am crying.
3. My Chihuhua, Champ.
