Essential Oil Air Freshening Sprays

Make your own essential oil air freshening sprays with these fun and easy recipes. You can bottle this and give it as gifts, or just enjoy using it in your own house every day.

Ingredients:
1 cup distilled water
8-10 drops essential oil of your choice spray bottle, with a fine mist setting
label

Pour the cup of distilled water into the spray bottle. Add the drops of essential oils and shake very well. Cap the bottle, and allow to sit for a few hours before using. Shake the bottle before each use to evenly distribute the scented oil throughout the water. Use the label to describe what sort of air freshener each bottle is. And be sure to use the fine mist setting on your bottle, so the spray will be distributed nicely in the air.

Here are some ideas for wonderful air freshener sprays, but you can go ahead and create your own favorite blends using scents that you love the most. To use the following recipe, just add the recommended amounts of essential oil to the spray bottle with the distilled water, and follow the instructions as above.

Please note that essential oils can vary in potency - for this reason, you can add or reduce the amounts of essential oil recommended in each recipe, if you find that the essential oil you've bought is either stronger or weaker than expected.

1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 (12 ounce) package lasagna noodles
12 ounces cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese

In a large skillet over medium heat cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic untill brown. Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, and oregano and stir until well incorported. Cook untill heated through.

In a large bowl mix together the cottage cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese.

Spoon a layer of the meat mixture onto the bottom of the slow cooker. Add a double layer of the uncooked lasagna noodles. Break to fit noodles into slow cooker. Top noodles with a portion of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layering of sauce, noodles, and cheese until all the ingredients are used.

Cover and cook on low heat in slow cooker for 6 to 8 hours.

Convert Your Favorite Recipes To the Slow Cooker

You can adapt many conventional recipes for the slow cooker. Any oven or stovetop recipe that has some moisture in it--whether from water, broth, wine, sauce, or canned soup--should work beautifully in your favorite appliance, just keep these things in mind:

Cut all liquid amounts in half when adjusting for the slow cooker.

The low heat setting is approximately 200 degrees F (95 degrees C) and high heat is about 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

For every hour you'd cook something in the oven or on the stove, allow 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. (When in doubt, turn it on low and leave it all day or overnight.)
