Thursday Thirteen - My First

13 Things I Don't Like About Summer
  1. I don't like the really hot weather.
  2. I don't like the humidity.
  3. I don't like the lack of central air conditioning in the house.
  4. I don't like the lack of activities available for school-age children in the community.
  5. I don't like the effect the humidity (and hot weather) have on my daughter's asthma.
  6. I don't like the insects that are suddenly in abundance.
  7. I don't like the lack of air conditioning in the car.
  8. I don't like the fact that we still need to follow the "school" schedule because of the structure my son needs to survive.
  9. I don't like the fact that my son doesn't sleep in... ever.
  10. I don't like the constant need for ice cream and lack of money to buy this special treat often.
  11. I don't like that school is out. (I do believe in year round schooling, especially for special needs children.)
  12. I don't like that my children have to attend all my appointments, doctor visits, etc., with me throughout the summer due to lack of a babysitter.
  13. I don't like that my first list for Thursday Thirteen sounds so negative.

You can be as negative as you like. It's Thursday Thirteen. We know there will be lots of positives interspersed with the negatives.

I definitely agree with most of those! Especially #2 and #6. Bugs and humidity! Yuck!

Thanks for the comment. The movie was great, although there were a few parts that I didn't like. I'm not a faithful fan and have only seen a handful of episodes, so I liked that it could be enjoyed by all.
Hmmm, being a student still, I love summer! I hope there are still many positives for you, and happy TTing!

ps: I'm from PGH

I understand, we have those days. And I agree about schooling special needs children year-round. I actually homeschool but do teach my son year-round due to need for schedules. You might actually enjoy my T13, it is about how we cope with autism in my house.. I have two with high-functioning autism. Here it is, stop by if you get a chance.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. If I were near you I would babysit so you wouldn't have to drag everyone to doctor appts. (I know how that is and it is not fun!). I understand your discouragement, when I read your words my life is much easier and I feel just horrible complaining as much as I did today. Go ahead. Vent away! I hope you have a cheerful tomorrow.

I'm not a huge fan of summer, either. The hot weather and humidity make me VERY crabby, and since I live in the South it's like this from May to October. Yuck!

Thanks for shopping by my T13!

I think it is okay to be negative in your blog sometimes. It is your outlet to share things good and bad. Sometimes when you share the bad, God could have you do it just so someone else knows that they are not alone!

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

I agree with #8 and #11. I feel more pressure during Summer to find activities for them to do. The summer camp is way too expensive!

Although I LOVE summer, I have to agree with #2 and #10. I just posted something on my blog about keeping structure for my kids in the summer. I totally understand what you mean about that. My son has to have structure or he totally falls apart.
