Last week, I wrote about why I don't like being a single mother. I apologize for such a negative list but the list was written in jest. This week, my list is about why I do, in fact, like being a single mother.
Thank you to so many that sent prayers and positive thoughts concerning my being a single mother and for my children.
13 Things I Do Like about Being a Single Mother:
- I named my children.
- My children have my last name.
- I get the undivided attention of my children.
- My children get my undivided attention.
- I get all the hugs, kisses, and "pats on the back."
- My children know they can count on me to help them and be there for them.
- I don't have to discuss my decisions about parenting with anyone else if I don't want to.
- I get to tuck them into bed and get the first kiss and last kiss every night.
- I get to wake them and thank God for another day with my children every morning.
- I get to learn something new everyday thanks to the new discoveries my children share with me.
- I get to teach them and share with them my interests, such as photography, scrapbooking, and crafting.
- They get to teach me and share with me their interests, such as dinosaurs, football, dancing, and "new" music.
- I get to hear all the "I love yous" and treasure them in my heart.

3 cherished words:
Wow, this is a really good list. I am glad that your kids have such a great mom!
I didn't think your list was negative! I thought it was down to earth and realistic. Single mothers are heroes to be admired and supported. TG for those smiles, hugs and I love yous, eh? They help make the days worthwhile.
Thank you, both, for the kind words. Your kindness is truly appreciated.
