Family Minute #13

Breakfast Benefits

“I’m not hungry.” “I’ll grab something later.” “I don’t have time to eat.” Those are just some of the excuses kids give for skipping breakfast. But new research shows there’s another reason why breakfast may be the most important meal of the day – children who regularly eat breakfast were less likely to be overweight. Researchers reporting in Pediatrics journal, found that adolescents who eat a morning meal are more active, get more fiber, and eat less fat calories.

But the report also noted that breakfast-eating frequency declines through adolescence, so be proactive in encouraging your children to eat breakfast.

Remember your family first.
