Recently I saw a post about Pay It Forward, the movie., which got me to thinking of the idea of RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness).
I have done this activity with several of my groups and forums but hadn't thought to do it on my blog, so thank you Krissy for the idea.
Start a revolution--it begins with you!
The premise of the novel Pay It Forward is one that any person can implement in his or her own life, at any time. It begins with doing a favor for another person -- without any expectation of being paid back. Indeed one would request that the recipient of that favor do the same for someone else: ideally for three other people. The unconditional favors can be large or small. As the fictional 12-year-old Trevor observes, "It doesn't have to be a big thing. It can just seem that way, depending who you do it for."
I love the idea of RAKs and have decided to do Pay It Forward here at All Things Cherished.
Making handcrafted items is a dying art, but they are so fun to make and get, so here's a little game to encourage hand-crafting to live and thrive. The first three people to leave a comment on this post, will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me! What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise.
The catch -- you knew there was a catch, didn't you? -- is that you must participate as well. Before leaving a comment here, write up a 'pay it forward' post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then, come back and link to me via Mr. Linky below.
The anticipation is almost as exciting as the arrival of your handmade gift.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
- I make no guarantee that you will like what I make. But, I will try my best to make sure that you do.
- It will be done this year; hopefully, sooner than later.
- You will have no clue what or when it will be.
If participating and you don't have a blog, please leave your email address so I have a way to get in touch with you.
Depending on participation &/or how well received this program goes, I will offer it again.
2 cherished words:
Count me in!
Phyllis, please add your link to your post about Pay It Forward.
